Traffic Controller Flagging Certification Course Description: The course is designed to cover the general requirements for proper signaling and paddle controls of a Traffic Controller in accordance with the MUTCD. The course includes professional classroom theory instruction, a participant workbook, final written exam, and hands-on evaluation of the participant.
Curriculum covers acceptable and unacceptable actions to be used by traffic controllers. You will learn how to set up correct work zone components and proper placements for cone tapering. This course dives deep into the requirements and principals of Traffic control according to the MUTCD manual.
Equipment Operators Practical Evaluation: At the end of this course, you will be given a 50-question exam that you must pass with an 80% or higher.
Who Should Attend: Any person who will be directing traffic or setting up traffic tapers should attend this course.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Completion Requirements: Participants are required to be present and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on exercises and written exam. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Traffic Control Flagger Certification of Completion. Employer specific training and authorization is required. Certification is valid for 3 years from the date of completion.
Learning Aids: Participants should come prepared with a notepad and pen. Guides and handouts will be provided at the start of the course. The presentation and materials are in English.
Course Length: Approximately 6 hours including classroom theory and activities followed by practical exercises and operator evaluations. We will be covering a great deal of information in a short period of time; your punctuality will be greatly appreciated.
