OHSA HAZWOPER 8 Hour Annual Refresher Course Description: The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard Annual Refresher Training is designed to provide participants a review of the occupational safety and health principles learned during their initial 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification Training. This course provides the required refresher training as specified by the OSHA standards for hazardous waste operations and emergency response. Course includes a review of applicable regulations, hazard recognition, material handling, personal protective equipment, medical surveillance, decontamination, and emergency response.
Who Should Attend: The 8 Hour annual refresher course is intended for those who are exposed or could be potentially exposed to hazardous substances including hazardous waste operations, and who have already completed the 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification Training. OSHA indicates that each worker must receive a minimum of 8 hours of annual refresher training at least once every 12 months.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Prerequisite: HAZWOPER 24 Hour or HAZWOPER 40 Hour. All participants must be able to provide current proof of training completion within one year.
Completion Requirements: Participants are required to be present and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on exercises, written exam, and practical evaluation. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive card and certification of completion.
Learning Aids: Participants should come prepared with a notepad and pen. Guides and handouts will be provided at the start of the course. The presentation and materials are in English (Spanish translated courses are available upon request).
Course Length: Approximately 8 hours including classroom theory and activities. We will be covering a great deal of information in a short period of time; your punctuality will be greatly appreciated.
