HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification Course Description: The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard 40 Hour Training course is designed to meet initial training requirements for general site workers who routinely take part in hazardous waste operations where exposure to hazardous substances and health hazards could occur. Training emphasizes safety and health hazards personnel may be exposed to while working on hazardous waste sites and provides an expanded understanding of safe work practices and procedures for hazardous waste operations and emergency response. Training is based on the OSHA regulations found in 29 CFR 1910.120.
Who Should Attend: Required for personnel who regularly engage in operations where hazardous substances or wastes are removed, contained, incinerated, neutralized, stabilized, cleared-up, processed or handled. Activities covered include emergency response operations, and operations at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites where workers may be exposed to hazardous materials or other chemical, biological or radioactive health hazards. OSHA indicates that each worker must receive a minimum of 8 hours of annual refresher training at least once every 12 months.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Completion Requirements: Participants are required to be present and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on exercises, written exam, and practical evaluation. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive card and certification of completion.
Learning Aids: Participants should come prepared with a notepad and pen. Guides and handouts will be provided at the start of the course. The presentation and materials are in English (Spanish translated courses are available upon request).
Course Length: Minimum of 40 hours of classroom theory and activities over course of 5 days. We will be covering a great deal of information in a short period of time; your punctuality will be greatly appreciated.
