HAZWOPER 16 Hour for All Industries Online Course Description: This HAZWOPER 16 Hour course was designed for general site workers who have already taken 24 hours of HAZWOPER training but now need to meet their HAZWOPER 40-Hour requirement. A general site worker who is potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards is required to have 40 hours of hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) training, along with three days of supervised field experience. To become a general site worker under these conditions, or if wearing a respirator becomes a job requirement, those certified with 24 hours of HAZWOPER training must take an additional 16 hours to reach the minimum 40 hours required by OSHA. This additional 16 hours of training, along with two additional days of supervised field experience, combine to meet the requirements specified in paragraph (e)(3)(i) of the OSHA HAZWOPER standard, 29 CFR 1910.120.
This HAZWOPER 16 Hour course focuses on air monitoring and hazard detection, respiratory protection, and chemical protective clothing for sites where exposures can be expected to exceed permissible and published exposure limits. Emergency response protocols and principles of site excavation are also discussed.
Intended Audience: This course is intended for workers certified with 24 hours of HAZWOPER training who become general site workers, or who are required to wear respirators. The site characterization may also indicate that there are health hazards or the possibility of an emergency developing. Under these conditions, those certified with 24 hours of training must then have an additional 16 hours to reach the 40 hours of training required by OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120, paragraph (e)(3)(i).

Also, supervisors and managers with 24 hours of HAZWOPER training who are directly responsible for, or who are in charge of general site workers engaged in hazardous waste operations, may take this course to fulfill the 40-hour OSHA training requirement found in 1910.120, paragraph (e)(4). Note: Paragraph (e)(4) has additional training requirements, beyond 40 hours of initial training, for managers and supervisors.

This HAZWOPER 16-Hour Course is Based On-OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Standard as found in 29 CFR 1910.120.
Completion Requirements: Participants must have completed a HAZWOPER 24 Hour course in fulfillment of the requirements of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120 before taking this course.
To be in compliance with OSHA HAZWOPER regulations, participants will also need to obtain additional site-specific training, along with two days of actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained experienced supervisor. The two days of field experience is in addition to the one day required for OSHA 24 Hour training certification.

HAZWOPER 24 Hour for All Industries Online Course Description: OSHA requires businesses that operate sites where employees, managers, and supervisors experience limited exposure to hazardous materials to provide 24 Hours of initial training. Additionally, those who only occasionally visit the site may be required to have a level of HAZWOPER training as well. While workers in these roles are not generally exposed to high levels of hazardous substances like those encountered by workers engaged in regular cleanup, treatment, storage, or disposal activities at hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) sites, they still require training to ensure compliance with required safety practices and minimize the occurrence of injuries and health risks. We offer the HAZWOPER 24 Hour Course for All Industries to meet these mandatory training requirements.
Intended Audience: This HAZWOPER 24 Hour course meets the initial training requirements mandated by 29 CFR 1910.120(e) for workers, supervisors, and managers who have limited exposure to hazards beyond permissible and/or published exposure limits, including:
- Those who visit the worksite occasionally to performed limited tasks, such as ground water monitoring and land or geophysical surveying
- Individuals who regularly work at monitored, fully characterized sites where:
- Hazard exposure levels are below permissible and/or published limits
- Respirators are not used
- There are no hazards and/or known risk of emergencies
- Workers who do not work at a HAZWOPER site, but require a fundamental understanding of hazardous waste safety, health hazards, and worksite best practices
This course is not appropriate for workers who regularly engage in the cleanup, treatment, storage, and/or disposal of hazardous substances as defined in 40 CFR 261.3 and 49 CFR 171.8, workers who wear a respirator on the job, and those who are likely exposed to hazardous materials and site health hazards above permissible and/or published limits.

HAZWOPER 40 Hour Online Course Description: When workers engage in the cleanup, treatment, storage, or disposal of hazardous substances as defined in 40 CFR 261.3 and 49 CFR 171.8, they must adhere to the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 standards for hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER). Failure to understand and comply with these standards poses serious risks, including chemical burns, skin and eye irritation, and even death. HAZWOPER 40 Hour Course for All Industries helps workers, managers, and supervisors achieve initial compliance to maintain a safe workplace and minimize health risks for employees.
Intended Audience: This 40-Hour HAZWOPER online course is appropriate for anyone who regularly participates in hazardous waste operations, including:
- General site workers tasked with the removal of toxic, flammable, and/or corrosive substances who are likely to be exposed to hazardous substances and site health hazards above permissible and published limits and who must wear a respirator on at the worksite
- On-site supervisors who oversee general site workers as described above and must fulfill a 40-Hour OSHA training requirement

HAZWOPER 8 Hour Refresher 2020 Online Course Description: HAZWOPER 2020 Refresher provides refresher training as specified by the OSHA standard for hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER), 29 CFR 1910.120.
