Fall Protection End User 

Fall Protection End User Course Description: The course is designed to meet OSHA training requirements for workers who are exposed to fall hazards. The course includes professional classroom theory instruction, participant handouts, group activities, and final written exam. 

Curriculum covers the fundamentals of fall prevention and protection with a focus on selection, inspection, and maintenance. Training covers fall protection risks and requirements associated with rooftops, scaffolding, ladders, and mobile elevated work platforms. Participants will learn about basic self and assisted rescue plans and suspension trauma potentials. Training includes the assessment for and use of fall protection and position restraints, guardrails, covers, net systems, barriers, warning lines and monitors.

Who Should Attend: Required for employees whose tasks expose them to falls from heights and are required to implement or use fall protection devices and equipment. Initial training and refresher training when there are any reasons to believe that fall protection user does not have the understanding and skills required to ensure safety. 

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Safety Equipment Recommended: Attending participants are encouraged to bring their personal fall protection harness for self-inspection and practical fit training.  

Completion Requirements: Participants are required to be present and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on exercises, and written exam. Participants who successfully complete the program receive a fall protection end user training certification card. Employer specific training and authorization is required. Initial and refresher training and certification every 3 years or earlier due to unsafe act observed, a near miss or accident, and equipment or workplace changes.

Forklift Operator Certification 

Forklift Operator Certification Course Description: The course is designed to cover the general requirements for safe operation of Class 4, 5, & 7 Powered Industrial Trucks also known as Forklifts Mobile Powered Work Platforms and the requirements of the OSHA 1910.178 Regulations. The course includes professional classroom theory instruction, a participant workbook, final written exam, and hands-on evaluation of the operator.

Curriculum covers OSHA Regulations and ANSI Standards, types and classifications, safe operating practices, hazards, controls, inspections and maintenance, capabilities, stability, fueling, attachments, and manufacturer specific requirements.

Forklift Operator Practical Evaluation: An operator practical evaluation is included and will be conducted for use of the powered industrial truck type operated by the participant to ensure that the operator has the knowledge, skills, and competency needed to operate equipment safely. Operators must be evaluated on each Class and Model of forklift to be operated

Who Should Attend: Required for all employees who operate a forklift. Only trained and authorized personnel shall be permitted to operate powered industrial trucks. Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Safety Equipment Required: Attending participants are required to bring Hardhat, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Work Boots, Reflective Vest or Jacket and wear proper Work Clothing to participate in hands-on exercises and operator practical evaluation.  

Completion Requirements: Participants are required to be present and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on exercises, written exam, and practical evaluation. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a powered industrial truck operator training certification card. Employer specific training and authorization is required. Hand & Power Tool Safety 

Hand & Power Tool Safety Course Description: The Hand and Power Tool Safety Training Program is intended to provide entry level workers information about OSHA’s hand and power tools regulations for avoiding accidents and preventing injuries. The training covers a variety of general hand and power tool hazards which a worker may encounter with use including mechanical hazards, types of tools and precautionary measures to ensure your understanding of tool safety procedures and safeguards. In addition, participants will be informed of the general selection, proper use, maintenance, inspection and care of hand and power tools.

Who Should Attend: The course is intended and recommended for all entry level workers who work with and around hand and power tools.

HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification  

HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification Course Description: The HAZWOPER 40 Hour Training course is designed to meet initial training requirements for general site workers who routinely take part in hazardous waste operations where exposure to hazardous substances and health hazards could occur. Training emphasizes safety and health hazards personnel may be exposed to while working on hazardous waste sites and provides an expanded understanding of safe work practices and procedures for hazardous waste operations and emergency response. Training is based on the OSHA regulations found in 29 CFR 1910.120.

Who Should Attend: Required for personnel who regularly engage in operations where hazardous substances or wastes are removed, contained, incinerated, neutralized, stabilized, cleared-up, processed or handled. Activities covered include emergency response operations, and operations at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites where workers may be exposed to hazardous materials or other chemical, biological or radioactive health hazards. OSHA indicates that each worker must receive a minimum of 8 hours of annual refresher training at least once every 12 months.

HAZWOPER 8 Hour Annual Refresher 

HAZWOPER 8 Hour Annual Refresher Course Description: The HAZWOPER Annual Refresher Training is designed to provide participants a review of the occupational safety and health principles learned during their initial 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification Training. This course provides the required refresher training as specified by the OSHA standards for hazardous waste operations and emergency response. Course includes a review of applicable regulations, hazard recognition, material handling, personal protective equipment, medical surveillance, decontamination, and emergency response.

Who Should Attend: The 8 Hour annual refresher course is intended for those who are exposed or could be potentially exposed to hazardous substances including hazardous waste operations, and who have already completed the 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification Training. OSHA indicates that each worker must receive a minimum of 8 hours of annual refresher training at least once every 12 months. 

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Prerequisite: HAZWOPER 24 Hour or HAZWOPER 40 Hour. All participants must be able to provide current proof of training completion within one year.

Health and Safety Institute Adult BLS 

Health and Safety Institute Adult BLS Course Description: Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid training program designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider. This extremely flexible program will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work.

Who Should Attend: Required for occupational first aid providers and employees who have confined space rescue duties. We also recommended training for all other individuals who desire CPR, AED, and first aid knowledge and skills with a focus on adults.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Safety Information: Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Participants will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities, please inform one of the instructors immediately upon arrival. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have health or injury concerns.  

Completion Requirements: Participants are required to be present and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on exercises and skills evaluation. Upon successful completion participants will receive a certification card valid for two years from the date of the course.

Health and Safety Institute Pediatric BLS Course Description: First Aid with CPR and AED for Children, Infants, and Adults provides an ideal training solution for schools, childcare providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children.

Who Should Attend: Persons who are occupationally required or just desire to have first aid knowledge and skills, such as emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents, and babysitters.

Hilti Direct Fastening Online Certification Description: Hilti Web based DX training for convenient operator certification allows you to avoid delays waiting for a trainer by using their new eLearning course that gets you setup and certified in minutes. Anytime, anyplace.

The course you will be guided through a set of interactive slides covering key topics for tool operation and handling with useful details and additional information available throughout.

Who Should Attend: To assure safety on the jobsite, OSHA and ANSI require that all powder actuated tool users become trained and certified for the particular tool being used.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Completion Requirements: Following the course, you will need to correctly answer a set of questions then your Qualified Operator's Card will automatically be issued. As you submit your answers, you will know immediately if your answer is right or wrong. If you do not pass on your first try, you can take it again.

Learning Aids: Training is available in English, Spanish, or French. Once you're on the training site, you'll be able to select your preferred language and get started. Toll manuals are available for download on the Hilti website and during the course.

Mobile Crane Operator Certification 

Mobile Crane Operator Certification Course Description: The course is designed to cover the general requirements for the safe use Mobile Crane Operator training, testing, and evaluation for operator qualification for crane operators in general industry and construction not requiring national certification. The course includes professional classroom instruction, a 200-page participant workbook, practice quizzes, final written exam, and hands-on evaluation. This is NOT a national certification program.

Curriculum covers pre-operation inspection, controls, functions, stability, set-up, outriggers, leveling, cribbing, hazards, wire rope, load hooks, load handling, traveling, rotating, elevating and lowering loads, load placement, load rating charts, load weight calculating, calculating lifting solutions and signaling/spotting. A practical mobile crane operating evaluation will be completed on the third day. 

Mobile Crane Operators Practical Evaluation: An operator practical evaluation is included and will be conducted after successful completion of written exam to ensure that the operator has the knowledge, skills, and competency needed to operate equipment safely. Operators must be evaluated on each make and model of Mobile Crane to be operated.

Who Should Attend: Required for all employees who operate mobile cranes on company owned or controlled property. This does not meet the requirements for cranes operations for hire.  Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Prerequisite: Rigging and Signaling Qualification. All participants must be able to provide current proof of training completion.  

Crane Requirements: Operator practical evaluations will be conducted on the third day of training on the crane the operator regularly uses. Crane pre-use inspections will be conducted to ensure that a current annual inspection has been completed and the crane is in proper working order prior to conducting operator practical evaluation.

Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Operator Certification 

Mobile Elevated Work Platform Operator Certification Course Description: The course is designed to cover the general requirements for safe operation of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) including Aerial Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, and Bucket Trucks also known as Powered Personnel Platforms and the requirements of the ANSI A92 Standard. The course includes professional classroom theory instruction, a participant workbook, final written exam, and hands-on evaluation of the operator.

Curriculum covers OSHA Regulations and ANSI Standards, types and selection, safe operating practices, associated hazards, controls, capabilities, stability, fall protection, inspections and maintenance, fueling, work zones, and manufacturer specific requirements.

MEWP Operators Practical Evaluation: An operator practical evaluation is included and will be conducted for use of the MEWP operator's performance to ensure that the operator has the knowledge, skills, and competency needed to operate the equipment safely. Operators must be evaluated on each Class and Model of personnel lift to be operated.
